Submission

Applicant Information

  • An applicant for a permitted road access location must be a person with an interest in the subject land.
  • A permitted road access location approval can be issued where an applicant completes and signs this application form and satisfies Main Roads that:
  1. The proposed road access location will be located at an appropriate place, having regard to the safety and efficiency of the road network.
  2. Any adverse impacts associated with the proposed road access location can be adequately mitigated
  • An approval may be conditional. Where successful, the applicant will receive a ‘Letter of Conditional Approval’. This does not authorise works to commence. The ‘Letter of Conditional Approval’ contains the permitted road access location and conditions which must be met before the road access works (including driveways) can be constructed.
  • Once a ‘Letter of Conditional Approval’ has been obtained then, this letter should be submitted along with a completed ‘Seeking Approval to Undertake Works Within the Road Reserve - Application Form’ including a Traffic Management Plan to enquiries@mainroads.wa.gov.au. The aforementioned form is available through the Working on Roads page.
Once Main Roads is satisfied the conditions have been complied with, the applicant will receive approval to commence works.

  • Gross mass (t) (vehicle, combination and trailer where applicable)
  • Axle spacings
  • Manufacturer's axle group rating (t)
  • Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) – means the total maximum mass of the trailer, as stated by the manufacturer together with its load and the mass imposed on the towing vehicle by the trailer when the towing vehicle and trailer are on a horizontal surface

A separate form must be completed for each motor vehicle or trailer in your fleet.
