We are undertaking essential road widening works along Cockburn Road between Hamilton Hill and Henderson.

Sections along a 6.7 km length of Cockburn Road between Emplacement Crescent, Hamilton Hill, and Quill Way, Henderson, are affected. The works include widening and resurfacing at bus stop areas and are necessary to improve the safety and quality of this busy stretch of road.

The works are being carried out by a Main Roads contractor under an approved Traffic Management Plan.

Update on project completion (as at Tuesday 17 September)

Owing to significant wet weather over the past few months, sealing and line marking works had to be postponed on four occasions, causing programming disruptions. Works have now resumed, and project completion is now expected to be by the end of September/early October.

All final works are planned to be completed during the day to minimise disruption to the community.

Some speed restrictions will again be in place to protect workers as the travelling public approaches work zones.

Public transport

All bus stops within the project area will remain fully operational and accessible to public transport users throughout the duration of the works.

Access to side roads and driveways

Side road and driveway accesses will not be affected.
