Orders
Orders are a tool to provide RAVs access to WA roads without a need for a permit. Transport Operators don't need to apply for an Order.
Buses
The Controlled Access Bus Order on page 10 of the WA Government Gazette No. 150 of 2022, allows for a bus, except an articulated bus, to exceed 12.5 metres in length, up to 14.5 metres.
The 2 Axle Complying Bus Exemption Notice on page 63 of the WA Government Gazette No. 151 of 2013, allows higher mass limits for certain complying buses, subject to the 2 Axle Bus, Coach and Fire Truck Restricted Structures.
The 3 Axle Complying Bus Exemption on page 34 of the WA Government Gazette No. 70 of 2013, allows higher mass limits for certain 3 axle complying buses to operate State-wide.
Boats
The Rowing Boat Order on page 1530 of the WA Government Gazette No. 105 of 2025, allows dimension modifications for vehicles transporting overlength rowing boats to operate State-wide, subject to the conditions specified within the Order. Refer to the Rowing Boat Order Vehicle Measurement Guide for allowable dimensions.
The Oversize Boat Order on page 1530 of the WA Government Gazette No. 105 of 2025, allows dimension modifications for transporting oversize boats and boat trailers, for a purpose other than in connection with a business, on a public road in Western Australia, subject to the requirements of the Order and the related Class 1 RAV Oversize Period Permit Operating Conditions.
Fire Trucks
The 2 Axle Fire Truck Order on page 10 of the WA Government Gazette No. 150 of 122, allows higher mass limits for fire trucks operated by Department of Fire and Emergency Services, subject to the 2 Axle Fire Truck Restricted Structures.
Prime Mover Combinations
The Class 2 and 3 Prime Mover Combinations Order on page 11 of the WA Government Gazette No. 150 of 2022, allows a wide range of standard prime mover and trailer combinations to operate on pre-approved RAV Networks.
