Upgrading a 17 kilometre section between Bunbury and Busselton with new lanes, road improvements and bridge construction.

What's happening

The first section of Stage Two, 3.3 km between Hutton Road and just north of Ludlow River, is complete and open.

Pre-construction work for the remaining section of Stage Two is underway, and includes clearing, earthworks, pavement and surfacing.

A contract for construction of three bridges over Abba, Ludlow and Sabina Rivers has been awarded. Work started in April, with all three bridges expected to be constructed by late-2022.  

A contract for the remainder of Stage Two is expected to be awarded in mid-2022.

Scope

Stage One: Construction of a 5 km lane from just south of Spurr Street to Hutton Road; including reconstruction of part of the existing lanes.

Stage Two: Construction of an additional lane over a 12 km section between Hutton Road and Busselton; including construction of three bridges over the Abba, Ludlow and Sabina River.
