LGBTQIA+ People

At Main Roads, some of our co-workers, family members and customers identify as LGBTQIA+ and we are committed to encouraging everyone to be their authentic selves at work.

We want everyone who works with us to be included and valued for who they are, helping us to create a more engaged, productive, and better place to work and to better serve the community.

We have established a diversity reference group to promote actions supporting LGBTQIA+ people led by an advocate who is a member of the corporate executive.

Each year we support Pride WA PrideFest participating in Fair Day and the Pride Parade joining our colleagues as part of the Transport Portfolio.

We are members of Pride in Diversity and during 2024 we are seeking recognition at bronze tier status through the Australian Workplace Equity Index foundation submission process.

Acknowledgement of country

The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
