What's happening

Road works to construction roundabouts at the Thomas Road intersections with Nicholson Road and Kargotich Road in Oakford will start from 9 January 2023 and continue through to 2024. Road users should be aware of changing road conditions and possible delays while these important projects are progressed. Western Power service relocations for the roundabout at Nicholson Road will also be underway from February to June 2023.

Road users on Thomas Road in Casuarina may experience delays and increased congestion with increased traffic in the area accessing the new Costco Casuarina store. Changed traffic conditions, including a reduced speed limit, remain in place between Bombay Boulevard and Kwinana Freeway in Casuarina.

When complete, Thomas Road in Casuarina will be two lanes in each direction with a new roundabout west of Bombay Boulevard to enhance safety and access. A new shared path will also be available on the south side of Thomas Road connecting to Kwinana Freeway’s path network and the existing path on Thomas Road west of Kwinana Freeway. The new dual-lane roundabouts in Oakford, at the intersections of Thomas Road and Nicholson and Kargotich roads will provide enhanced traffic flows and safety for all road users.
