Upgrades are being undertaken across the Wheatbelt and Great Southern regions to improve safety and enhance service for the freight industry.

Constructing a heavy haulage route around the City of Albany for the transport of grain, fertilizer, woodchips and other goods to and from the Port of Albany.

Widening the highway between Barrett Drive and Lockyer Road. Construction is expected to start in February 2021.

Upgrading the highway between Karragullen and Corrigin to improve safety in the Wheatbelt.

Upgrading and sealing a section of road between Broome Highway and Beagle Bay, providing all weather. Construction is due to finish in 2021.

Bunbury Outer Ring Road

Bunbury Outer Ring Road

A 27-kilometre free-flowing highway, linking Forrest Highway to Bussell Highway. The project will be delivered in three sections, providing an alternative route around Bunbury.

Wheatbelt upgrades are due to be finished in mid-2021, creating safer passing opportunities and improved access.

Adding town bypasses, wider roads, passing lanes, more rest stops and additional facilities between Muchea and Wubin.
