The Paris Road and Clifton Road interchange will welcome visitors to the South West as they transition onto the Bunbury Outer Ring Road from Forrest Highway. The interchange will feature Melissa Riley’s artwork ‘Djilba’, which can be seen on the pre-cast panels that have been installed at the project site.

Tilt-up panels need to be installed at the site, which involves temporary propping of the pre-cast panels that are 'tilted' into position using cranes. Cast Civil were awarded this contract and are responsible for tilt-up panel installation across several of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road interchange bridges.

Installation of the panels was considered very carefully in order to not damage the panel structures during the process” says Cast Civil’s Project Manager, Steven Curnow.

The company’s scope of works includes bridge formwork, reinforcement and concrete activities, and Mechanically Stabilised Earth (MSE) backfill for the bridge structures. The Cast Civil team are currently working on the Paris Road and Clifton Road interchange, Raymond Road interchange, South Western Highway (north) interchange, and Waterloo Road.

According to Steven, the Bunbury Outer Ring Road project is “a landmark project for the South West and also the State. It will be seen by millions of people throughout its lifespan”.

Cast Civil has focussed on creating local employment opportunities and offering upskilling and training throughout the delivery of the project. The Perth-based company have employed over 30% local personnel to deliver the large package of works.
