Yalinda Drive Bridge is off on the right foot(ing)

The Yalinda Drive bridge over the Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) has now had its bridge abutment footings completed - marking the next step towards construction of the newest bridge in the southern section of the project.

The BORR project has its fair share of bridges, interchanges, and intersections but the Yalinda Drive bridge offers something new.

But there’s something else really unique about the Yalinda Drive bridge: it’s designed for triple use as a road bridge, a shared path for pedestrians, and a fauna crossing. That means that vehicles, people, and animals can all share the space safely and travel efficiently.

What’s next for the bridge?

Next comes the completion of the precast abutment wall panels and their installation at the end of the month.

Once BORR is open, you’ll recognise this special bridge thanks to the art installation courtesy of local Aboriginal artists Dellas Bennell and Korrine Bennell-Yarran from Karrak Designs. More to come on that soon!
