If you’ve driven along Forrest Highway recently, you would have noticed a number of traffic management measures in place.
In October 2022, vehicles travelling south on Forrest Highway were temporarily moved onto a new carriageway that was constructed in the median of the highway. This seemingly small move was critical for the team to continue constructing the Paris and Clifton interchange at this location. When you drive past now you will notice the original highway pavement has now disappeared! Check out the progress on the video below.
As the entrance to BORR, the interchange will provide connection between BORR, Forrest Highway, Paris Road and Clifton Road.
The next stage of work, which is currently planned to be implemented in mid-2023, requires all traffic on Forrest Highway to be temporarily moved onto the new permanent southbound carriageway. This will allow the team to complete the remaining construction activities on the western side of the interchange and build the new and permanent northbound carriageway.
To complete these works, Paris Road needs to be temporarily closed between Forrest Highway and the entrance to Spud Shed from early February 2023 until June 2024. The map below details the extent of the planned road closure and associated detours.
To stay up to date on what roadworks are in place for the project, check out the BORR website and make sure you’re following the Facebook page.
