What's happening
We have continued engaging with key stakeholders; to gain access to lands so we can complete environmental and heritage surveys.
In addition, we have continued negotiations with Native Title holders to gain land access agreements to progress the next phase of construction. Timing of the procurement phase is still under development.
With road design for the last 100-kilometre section between Warakurna to WA/NT border being finalised, our design work is nearing completion.
In late-May, the project team participated in on-country community briefings, in conjunction with the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NGC), to four Great Central Road communities of Warburton, Warakurna, Wanarn and Kanpa.
With a focus to raise project awareness to the community, we spoke to almost 200 community members to gain a deeper understanding of the aspects of the project that were of most interest or concern to community members.
We aim to continue ongoing engagement with the communities as all aspects of the progress progresses.
Heritage and environmental surveys are ongoing in consultation with respective Native Title groups.
