Improving safety and traffic flow with a new dual-lane roundabout.

Scarborough Beach Road and Green Street itersection

What's Happening

We are constructing a new dual-lane roundabout at the intersection of Scarborough Beach Road and Green Street, improving safety for all road users.

Until late April, 24/7 road closures are in place at the intersection (view detour map). Local access is maintained for Bauxite Lane and Waterloo Street via Baden Street.

The intersection of Scarborough Beach Road and Green Street will also be closed overnight on Sunday 27 April for the application of road seal and the modification of traffic management.

These works will start at 10pm on Sunday and be finished by 6am on Monday 28 April*. Detours will be in place during this time and road users are requested to plan ahead to avoid delays.

Once this work is complete, road users will be able to use the new roundabout with traffic management in place.

As we move towards completion of the new roundabout, intermittent changes to the road alignment, including lane closures, will be in place.

Occasional after hours works with road closures should also be expected, with further information to be provided as dates are confirmed. Please subscribe to be kept informed about future works.

Telstra, Western Power and ATCO Gas relocations are also underway in the area (combination of day and night works).

This project is funded by the State Government, following a 2017 election commitment.
