Modifying access along Leach Highway, between Webb Street and Vahland Avenue

Leach Highway Intersection Fifth Avenue, Beatrice Avenue and Corinthian Road

What’s happening

By mid-2025, work is expected to start to modify the Leach Highway and Corinthian Road East intersection to right in and left-in/left-out only.

This safety improvement project will take up to two months to complete. To avoid extensive nightworks and expedite the construction process, Corinthian Road East will be closed between Vesta Crescent and Leach Highway for up to four weeks (with local access maintained for residents). Detours will be in place directing traffic to Leach Highway via Vahland Avenue or High Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained through the intersection for the duration of the project, using temporary diversions as required.

Occasional nightworks will be required for traffic management set-up and to undertake some of the work on Leach Highway. These will be advertised in advance.

Further design and underground service relocations are required before construction can proceed at Fifth Avenue and Beatrice Avenue.
