Belmont Park <em> Redevelopment Project</em>

What's Happening 

The Minister for Transport officially opened the new pedestrian footbridge over Graham Farmer Freeway and upgraded pedestrian and cyclist facilities adjacent to Belmont Park Racecourse and Graham Farmer Freeway in Victoria Park on 8 May 2025. The Minister for Transport’s media statement regarding the works is available to view.

The road and path networks in the project area are now open, with off-road finishing works including landscaping as well as some line marking to continue in the area during May.

New features

New infrastructure and traffic changes in Belmont and Burswood includes:

  • A new footbridge adjacent to the Victoria Park Drive bridge over Graham Farmer Freeway providing increased pedestrian and cyclist capacity for the future.
  • New Principal Shared Path (PSP) alignment adjacent to Graham Farmer Freeway with enhanced lighting.
  • Goodwood Parade westbound from Victoria Park is permanently closed.
  • New access to Belmont Park Racecourse, Racecourse car park and Burswood Point Development provided via Saintly Entrance and Seabiscuit Drive, and
  • Enhanced drainage and barriers.

Work hours and ongoing traffic management

In general, project works during May will be undertaken Monday to Saturday, between 7am and 7pm. Visit our Travel Map for the latest updates.
