HVS Update 9-2026

Updated Special Purpose Vehicle Standard Operating Conditions

Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) has recently updated the Special Purpose Vehicle Standard Operating Conditions.

The changes are as follows:

  1. Removal of the general 25 km/h maximum speed and centre movement requirement when crossing bridges.
  2. Addition of parking requirements.
  3. Increase to the maximum length from 25 m to 26 m for the night curfew within the Metropolitan Area.
  4. Alignment of curfew concessions for Fremantle Port Precinct, Henderson Industrial Estate and Burrup & Gap Ridge Precinct with Class 1 OSOM conditions.
  5. Alignment of approved roads for 3 and 4 in convoy with Class 1 OSOM conditions.
  6. Removal of alternative vehicle provisions to align with Class 1 OSOM conditions.
