HVS Update 25-2025

Wheatbelt Region - Shire of Dalwallinu - Downgrading RAV Access on Various Local Roads.

Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) advises that Restricted Access Vehicle (RAV) access on Dalwallinu - Kalannie Road, Rabbit Proof Fence Road, and Goodlands Road will be downgraded, following safety concerns raised by the Shire of Dalwallinu, due to inadequate seal widths.

HVS has undertaken a safety review of the above roads and verified the seal widths are inadequate for the current level of RAV access.

As a result, the following RAV Networks will be removed:

  • Tandem Drive Networks 8 to 10
  • AMMS Tandem Drive Networks 8.1 to 10.1

In addition, the above RAV Networks will also be removed from the following local roads, due to the resulting loss of network connectivity:

  • Battaglia Road
  • Cail Road
  • Dowerin - Kalannie Road
  • Glamoff Road
  • Kulja Central Road
  • Leeson Road
  • Lehmann Road
  • Martin Road
  • Roche Street
  • Sanderson Road
  • Warren Road

This change will take effect from Wednesday 22 October 2025 and will be reflected in the relevant Road Tables and on the RAV Mapping Tool on our website from that date.

Local farmers or operators with individual RAV access needs impacted by the above changes should contact the HVS Helpdesk on 138 486 and ask to speak to a Route Assessment Team member or email hvsrouteassessments@mainroads.wa.gov.au for further assistance.
