HVS Update 24-2025

Updated Oversize Road Train and B-Double Period Permit Operating Conditions

Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) has recently made some changes to the Oversize Road Train and B-Double Period Permit Operating Conditions.

The changes are as follows:

  1. The compulsory WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation requirements have been amended to clarify the Oversize Road Train and B-Double Period Permit does not apply to operators who are not currently accredited.

  2. Added provisions to allow the movement of oversize empty off-road mining trailers.

  3. Speed restrictions have been amended to clarify all relevant speed limits applicable to the vehicle combination, which will be enforced by WA Police and HVS Transport Inspectors.

  4. Parking requirements have been added to ensure vehicle combinations are not parking in prohibited areas and parking requirements or restrictions are adhered to when parking in approved parking areas. These provisions will be enforced by HVS Transport Inspectors.

The updated Operating Conditions are now available on the Oversize Road Trains and B Doubles page on our website.
