Main Roads Pilbara Region advises that new guardrail barriers have been installed on a recently realigned section of Great Northern Hwy between SLK 1259.42 and SLK 1262.23, located between Newman and Juna Downs.

The horizontal clearance through the barriers is approximately 12 metres and the barriers are approximately 1.0 metre high. As a result, some Oversize Overmass (OSOM) loads may be affected when traversing this section of Highway with oncoming heavy vehicles. 

This information is provided to assist OSOM Transport Operators in undertaking their required route surveys.

All transport operators are urged to exercise caution through this new section of highway to ensure appropriate consideration is given to the reduced operating envelope.
