HVS Update 22-2025
Wheatbelt Region - Shire of Merredin - Removal of RAV Access on Barrack Street, Queen Street and Coronation Street
Please be advised that Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) will be removing Restricted Access Vehicle (RAV) access on Barrack Street, Queen Street & Coronation Street, at the request of the Shire of Merredin.
The Shire of Merredin has advised that RAV access is no longer required on these roads and changes the Shire has made to town centre roads and other infrastructure to prioritise pedestrian safety and slowing traffic have made these roads unsuitable for RAV access.
As a result, HVS will be removing RAV access as follows.
Barrack Street, between Queen Street and Mary Street:
- Tandem Drive Networks 2 to 4
- AMMS Tandem Drive Networks 2.1 to 4.1
- Tri Drive Network 1
- AMMS Tri Drive Network 1.1
- 27.5m Oversize B-Double Network
Queen Street, between Barrack Street and Mitchell Street:
- Tandem Drive Networks 2 to 4
- AMMS Tandem Drive Networks 2.1 to 4.1
- Tri Drive Network 1
- AMMS Tri Drive Network 1.1
- PBS Tandem Drive Network 1B.1
- 27.5m Oversize B-Double Network
Coronation Street, between King Street and Mary Street:
- Tandem Drive Networks 2 to 4
- AMMS Tandem Drive Networks 2.1 to 4.1
- Tri Drive Network 1
- AMMS Tri Drive Network 1.1
- PBS Tandem Drive Network 1B.1
- 27.5m Oversize B-Double Network
This change will take effect from Wednesday 24 September 2025 and will be reflected in the relevant Road Tables and on the RAV Mapping Tool on our website from that date.
