Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) advises that unpaid permits will be cancelled after the following periods:

• Single Trip Permits - 60 days from the commencement date.
• Period Permits - 30 days from the commencement date. 

This change has come into effect as a result of transport operators not paying for permits and allowing them to remain pending payment, until such time as they expire or until the permit is needed, which may be after there have been changes to the permit requirements, approval process, or access conditions. 

HVS will commence cancelling unpaid permits from 1 July 2025.

To ensure new permit applications and renewals are processed by HVS in a timely manner, please ensure you only submit applications for permits that are needed.
