Agricultural Vehicle Orders

Most agricultural combinations and agricultural machines that exceed standard mass and dimensions are covered by the parameters of the available agricultural orders.

Agricultural Combinations Order

The Agricultural Combinations Order allows eligible wheeled and rubber tracked agricultural combinations and agricultural machines to operate on any road within WA, except a freeway, without the need to obtain a permit. Agricultural combinations and agricultural machines operating under this Order must comply with the operaitng conditions.

When operating under this Order you will need to obtain an Agricultural Bridge Crossing Permit to cross a bridge in WA if you exceed any of the mass limits listed below:

  • 9t on a single axle
  • 16.5t on a tandem axle group
  • 20t on a tri or quad axle group
  • 42.5t gross mass

Agricultural Machine Order

The Agricultural Machine Order allows eligible wheeled and rubber tracked agricultural machines to operate on a road outside the Perth metropolitan area, without the need to obtain a permit.

Agricultural machines operating under this Order must comply with the operating conditions and any over mass agricultural machine operating under this Order must not cross any bridge listed in the restricted structures list. If you need to cross a listed restricted bridge, you must obtain an Agricultural Bridge Crossing Permit before commencing your trip.

 If your agricultural combination or agricultural machine falls outside the parameters of the available Agricultural Orders, you must apply for an agricultural permit.
