Brand Highway SLK 166 Passing Lane

Phase:Assessment Report finalised to address submissions

Number of submissions 2

Main Roads Western Australia proposes to construct a northbound passing lane on Brand Highway (SLK 166.65 - 168.75), where the existing road alignment, including a steep grade and horizontal curves, limits safe overtaking opportunities for heavy and slow-moving vehicles. The proposal includes the clearing of up to 1.89 hectares (ha) of native vegetation to facilitate construction of the passing lane. The provision of an overtaking lane will improve overtaking opportunities, enhancing road user safety and freight efficiency along this section of Brand Highway.  Brand Highway SLK 166 Passing Lane image
