Brand Highway (H004) Passing Lane Extension SLK 188

Phase:Clearing proposal open for submission

Main Roads Western Australia is proposing to extend the length of a southbound passing lane located between SLK 187-190 on Brand Highway. The extension involves up to 0.83 hectares (ha) of clearing of native vegetation between SLK 187-189 to develop the proposed lane. The existing passing lane’s length is insufficient for overtaking slow vehicles on a steep slope. Extending the length of the passing lane is required to enhance freight efficiency on Brand Highway. Main Roads has determined that development of this passing lane is top priority to improve road user safety and freight efficiency on Brand Highway.
