HVS Update 17-2024

Notice of RAV Networks Changes - Various roads within the Shire of Katanning and Shire of Broomehill - Tambellup.

Please be advised that safety assessments carried out by Main Roads Rail Safety Branch have identified safety concerns relating to Restricted Access Vehicles (RAVs) travelling over several level crossings with short stacking distances on roads within the Shire of Katanning and the Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup. As a result, the decision has been made to implement the following changes to the relevant RAV Networks:

Shire of Katanning Roads

Creek Street, Katanning

RAV access has been removed for the following RAV Networks between SLK 0.00 – 0.07.

  • Tandem Drive Networks N5-7
  • Tandem Drive Concessional Networks N5.1-N6.1, N5.2-N6.2 & N5.3-N6.3
Alternative RAV access for these RAV Networks is via Kojonup Pingrup Road & Lisle Street or Daping Street.

Murdong Road, Murdong

Intersection restriction “Combinations exceeding 30 metres in length - no access to or from Northam Cranbrook Road” has been added to the following RAV Networks.

  • Tandem Drive Networks N5-N7
  • Tandem Drive Concessional Networks N5.1-7.1
Alternative RAV access is available to Murdong Road from multiple directions. Refer to the RAV Mapping Tool.

Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup Roads

North Terrace, Tambellup

RAV access has been removed, between Northam Cranbrook Road and Norrish Street, for the following RAV Networks.

  • Tandem Drive Networks N5-N6
  • Tandem Drive Concessional Networks N5.1-N6.1
There was no connectivity for these RAV Networks on North Terrace, therefore alternative access is not required.

Toolbrunup Road

RAV access has been removed for the following RAV Networks between SLK 0.00 – 0.06.

  • Tandem Drive Networks N2-N6
  • Tandem Drive Concessional Networks N2.1-6.1
Alternative RAV access for these RAV Networks is via Gnowangerup-Tambellup Road and Burridge Road.

Main Roads will implement the above changes on Wednesday 29 May 2024, which will be reflected in the relevant Road Tables and RAV Mapping Tool on our website from that date.
