HVS UPDATE 49-2023

Traffic Escort Single Trip Permit Lodgement Requirement

Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services would like to remind the transport industry of the importance of submitting single trip permit applications that require a Traffic Escort Warden (TEW), at least four (4) business days prior to the scheduled movement date.

Single trip permit applications submitted inside 4 business days will not be prioritised or guaranteed to be processed prior to the scheduled movement date. The permit applications will be processed in the order they are received. If the permit is not processed prior to the scheduled movement, the TEW booking will be cancelled and the operator will not be eligible for a refund.

Where a single trip permit requiring a TEW is issued within 2 business days of the scheduled movement, due to late lodgement of the permit application, delays can be expected on the day of the scheduled movement as the TEW will be required to complete their duties, including pre-move paperwork, understand all permit conditions, contraflow requirements and confirming SCATS (where applicable), before commencing their pre-check validations.

To avoid any of the above delays, it is important to submit your single trip permit application at least 4 business days prior to the scheduled movement date.
