Bridge 500 is located on Muir Highway at 112.2 SLK taking the road over the Kent River about 15 km east of Rocky Gully.
The bridge has seven spans and is narrow in width. Some of the piles/piers require repair or replacement. The bridge is proposed to be widened to 10 metres to improve user safety.
As a new concrete deck is to be installed, a side track is required to enable the road to remain open during bridgeworks. To accomodate this, 0.25 hectares (ha) of clearing is proposed to occur within a 0.32 ha disturbance footprint.
