Each vacancy will have instructions on how to apply, however the general process requires a comprehensive resume, a statement addressing the selection criteria and proof of any qualifications.
Read the application requirements carefully
Include proof of Australia Citizenship or permanent Australian residency
When addressing the selection criteria, consider following the SAO approach:
SITUATION – What was the situation/task?
ACTION – What steps did you take?
OUTCOME – What was the result you achieved?
Sounds like a lot of work right? It can be, but the key is to take it one step at a time, have a plan and allow yourself plenty of time.
Following the written application stage, successful candidates will be contacted for an interview. Remember interviews are a two way process. We’ll ask about your skills and experiences, but it’s also an opportunity for you to understand if the role and organisation are right for you.
