TRAVEL ADVICE – GREAT NORTHERN HIGHWAY BETWEEN ROEBUCK & WILLARE ROADHOUSESThe Fitzroy River at Willare on the Great Northern Highway is now predicted to reach moderate flood levels this weekend.While flood waters may cross floodways at Willare over the weekend, the risk of the road being closed is minimal.Main Roads will continue to monitor and will ONLY provide an update if conditions change.

Travel plans may need to be reconsidered due to unfavourable road conditions.If it’s raining heavily and you can’t see, pull over and park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears.Be alert and watch for hazards on the road including stray cattle and debris.Take care at crossings and floodways as river levels may rise rapidly.Do not drive into water of unknown depth or velocity.Exercise caution in flooded areas and take care when driving on gravel roads.
