Geraldton North South Highway

Brand Highway to North West Coastal Highway

In planningFuture

A planning study was completed in 2012 to define a corridor for the future road.

Roundabout options at key intersections are being investigated, which may increase the land requirement to increase safety and efficiency of the intersections.

Previous planning work

Community and landowners were asked to provide comment on the proposed concept and reservation for the highway from October to December 2009.

Submissions received were analysed, and issues raised were investigated to determine whether any changes to the concept and reservation, based on these submissions, could be made.

A summary of consultation and explanation of this analysis is contained in the March 2011 Project Overview. The analysis and investigations confirmed that no major changes to the preliminary concept and reservation were necessary.

The City of Greater Geraldton and the Western Australian Planning Commission’s Infrastructure Coordinating Committee endorsed the final concept and reservation shown in the final newsletter.
