HVS Update 09-2025

Wheatbelt Region - Shire of Yilgarn - Downgrading RAV Access on Koolyanobbing Road

Main Roads Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) advises that Restricted Access Vehicle (RAV) access on Koolyanobbing-Southern Cross Rd (Koolyanobbing Rd) will be downgraded at the request of the Shire of Yilgarn.

The Shire of Yilgarn has determined that Koolyanobbing Rd cannot sustain the current level of Concessional Loading and if allowed to remain will result in unsafe road conditions.

As a result, HVS will be removing Concessional Loading access from Koolyanobbing Road.

The following RAV Network access will be removed:

  • AMMS Tandem Drive Networks 2.2 to 4.2
  • AMMS Tandem Drive Networks 2.3 to 4.3
  • AMMS Tri Drive Networks 1.2 to 4.2
  • AMMS Tri Drive Networks 1.3 to 4.3
  • PBS Tandem Drive 1B.2 to 2B.2
  • PBS Tandem Drive 1B.3 to 2B.3
  • PBS Tandem Drive Quad Axle Network 1.2 to 2B.2
  • PBS Tandem Drive Quad Axle Network 1.3 to 2B.3
  • PBS Tri Drive Quad Axle Network 1.2 to 2B.2
  • PBS Tri Drive Quad Axle Network 1.3 to 2B.3

This change will take effect from 21 May 2025 and will be reflected in the relevant Road Tables and on the RAV Mapping Tool on our website from that date.
