Great Eastern Highway Upgrade



Realigning the highway and improving access at Old Northam Road and Wooroloo Prison Farm.

Realignment and improvement work is completed on a two kilometre stretch of Great Eastern Highway in Wooroloo.

Minor finishing work, including landscaping and rehabilitation, will be completed over the coming months, as weather permits.

  • Realign and reconstruct a two-kilometre section of road, south of the current highway.
  • Widen shoulders and install safety barriers (where required).
  • Build a new intersection at Old Northam Road (further south), with left and right turning lanes.
  • Reconstruct Wooroloo Prison Farm access road, with left and right turning lanes.
