HVS Update 15-2024

Planned opening of the Albany Ring Road on Sunday 19 May 2024.

Please be advised of the planned opening of the entire length of the Albany Ring Road on Sunday 19 May 2024, now that the construction works are almost complete on Phase 2, between South Coast Highway and Princess Royal Drive, as shown in the map link below:

As such, once the Phase 2 section of the new road is opened to the public, the entire length of the Albany Ring Road between Albany Highway and Albany Port Road (Princess Royal Drive) is approved for the following Restricted Access Vehicle (RAV) Networks:

  • Tandem Drive Networks 2-7
  • Tandem Drive Concessional Networks N2.1-7.1, N2.2-7.2 & N2.3-7.3
  • Tri Drive Networks TD1-4
  • Tri Drive Concessional Networks TD1.1-4.1, TD1.2-4.2 & TD1.3-4.3
  • Performance Based Scheme Tandem Drive Networks PBS1B.1-2B.1, PBS1B.2-2B.2 & PBS1B.3-2B.3
  • Performance Based Scheme Tri Drive Networks PBSTD1B.1-2B.1, PBSTD1B.2-2B.2 & PBSTD1B.3-2B.3
  • Performance Based Scheme Tri Drive Quad Axle Networks PBSTDQ1B.1-2B.1, PBSTDQ1B.2-2B.2 & PBSTDQ1B.3-2B.3
  • Oversize Divisible Products Networks 2-6
All ramps at interchanges will also open and provide the corresponding RAV Network connectivity between connecting roads.

With the full opening of the Albany Ring Road, the following RAV Network changes will also apply.

  • RAV Network access is removed from Albany Port Road (Hanrahan Road) between the Chester Pass Rotary and Cuming Road.
  • The following local access condition applies to the current RAV Networks on Albany Highway between Menang Drive and the Chester Pass Rotary and on South Coast Highway between Menang Drive and the Chester Pass Rotary.
This section of road is approved to access local properties located on this section of road, for the purpose of picking up goods, delivering goods or garaging vehicles. Drivers must carry documentation as proof of local delivery, pickup or garaging address. This section of road must not be used as a through route, except to access other roads only accessible via this section of road.

Operators are also reminded the above local access condition still applies to the current RAV Networks on Link Road.
