Planning to seal 100 kilometres of Marble Bar Road from the Roy Hill Iron Ore McPhee Mine Site to Roy Hill.

Marble Bar Road is 433km long and links Newman in the south to the Great Northern Highway, 45km east of Port Hedland in the north. The section between Newman and Marble Bar is 290kms long, of which 170kms is unsealed.

We are currently undertaking planning work to seal approximately 100 kilometres of Marble Bar Road from the Roy Hill Iron Ore McPhee Mine Site to Roy Hill.

What’s happening

Design and development work has started. Subject to all approvals, construction could begin in May 2022.

  • Provide reliable, all weather access for food, supplies and essential services to the East Pilbara
  • Reduce the need for road closures during wet season
  • Increase local employment opportunities for residents in Marble Bar and Nullagine by providing reliable road access between communities
