Indian Ocean Drive

Yanchep to Lancelin

Investigating opportunities for improvements along this stretch of road.
Indian Ocean Drive

We are undertaking a planning study along Indian Ocean Drive between Breakwater Drive, Yanchep and Seaview Drive, Lancelin.

The study aims to identify what the long term requirements are for Indian Ocean Drive, including intersection treatments and the expected requirement for a dual carriageway. This is a comprehensive investigation that will inform and guide the future role of Indian Ocean Drive within the regional transport network and surrounding community.

It is important to understand that this is a planning study only. No funding is currently available for any construction works or land acquisition. This study complements the recently completed safety upgrades and will assess future demand for the road, including potential land development, access requirements and traffic numbers.

Community and stakeholder engagement

Between 2019 and 2020, we started discussions with several key stakeholders to gather input on planning considerations and expectations for the study. We have met with land holders along Indian Ocean Drive and spoken to various stakeholders. We will be considering this feedback and the results from the MySay transport survey before finalising the planning document in early 2022.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss the project in further detail.
