Bussell Highway Improvements

We upgraded a small section north of Cowaramup to improve safety in the South West.

A small section of Bussell Highway was upgraded north of Cowaramup townsite to improve safety.

The upgrade between Treeton Road and Peake Street increases the road width, providing two 3.5 metre lanes with 1.5-2 metre sealed shoulders on each side of the highway.

Several upgrades across the South West region are complete, involving constructing sealed shoulders to improve road environments similar to this one. This is the last section of Bussell Highway between Busselton and Augusta to have narrow sealed shoulders.

In addition to increasing the road width, we provided a dedicated right hand turn from Bussell Highway into Treeton Road.

Major landscaping and rehabilitation works are currently underway, using native plants and seedlings, to enhance the northern entrance to Cowaramup.
