Thomas Road Safety Improvements

A series of upgrades are being planned between Kwinana Freeway and South Western Highway to improve safety.
Thomas Road

Since 2004, we have been investigating short and medium term treatments to improve safety and reduce the number of reported killed and seriously injured crashes on Thomas Road, between Kwinana Freeway and South Western Highway.

This section of Thomas Road is accessed by an average 17,000 vehicles per day (14 per cent heavy vehicles), and the road will not be able to cope with the expected increase in traffic volumes as development in the area progresses.

The improvements will enhance safety and ease congestion.

Increase safety and amenity in the area

Improve congestion and level of service

Upgrade infrastructure to current standards
