Thomas Road Bridge Over Rail

The Thomas Road rail crossing in Byford will be reconfigured to accomodate METRONET's Byford Rail Extension.
Thomas Road will be elevated to pass over the rail corridor with two lanes in each direction. The bridge will be constructed slightly to the north of the existing Thomas Road alignment, between South Western Highway and Wungong South Road.
Other works include:
- Modifications to local road, with Butcher Road connected to Vlasich Road via a new underpass.
- A shared path on the bridge for cyclists and pedestrians.
- Noise walls.
- Landscaping and re-vegetation.
