What's happening
A Principal Shared Path (PSP) on the eastern side of Mitchell Freeway, between Civic Place in Stirling and Reid Highway in Balcatta southbound, is officially open.
The new, high-standard shared path has filled a vital gap for cyclists and pedestrians, providing a safer and uninterrupted journey towards the CBD.

The project also includes a new 75-metre underpass to improve safety at Karrinyup Road. Local connections have been enhanced, with turning lanes extended on Karrinyup Road to Cedric Street to alleviate congestion at the intersection.
The project included the construction of pedestrian crossing facilities, noise walls, and artwork on the underpasses and its approaches.
This latest upgrade builds on the successful completion of the PSP between Hutton Street and Glendalough Station in 2020. It is a continuation of the State Government’s commitment to completing gaps on the Mitchell Freeway PSP, which is a key priority of the Western Australian Bicycle Network Plan 2014-2031.
