High Street Upgrade

Stirling Highway to Carrington Street

CompleteComplete

Journey times are smoother by eliminating delays at the High Street and Stirling Highway intersection.

The project is officially complete, providing safer, more efficient access for motorists headed to Fremantle and for heavy vehicles accessing the port.

Traffic signals at High Street and Stirling Highway have been replaced with a roundabout, which includes bypass lanes to separate local traffic from traffic heading to or from Fremantle Port or locations north of the river.

The project also included a series of important safety improvements, including separation of eastbound and westbound traffic through a mature tree-lined median, which also provides an attractive gateway into Fremantle.

Landscaping Update

With the winter rains now upon us, planting activity has commenced in various locations close to High Street and Stirling Highway. This follows a program of preparatory works, which has included weed control, mulching, service investigations and design set-outs. For more information on the considerations influencing the planting program and an update on this season’s activity, please view our latest Landscaping Update
