Great Northern Highway

Please be advised that construction is underway to upgrade Great Northern Highway, North of Ord River, to improve safety and efficiency for road users. Works are underway to widen, reconstruct and realign 11 km of the highway. 

To enable construction works, the Southbound parking bay on Great Northern Highway at SLK 2941.8, approximately 1.5 km North of the Muluks Rest Stop, will be removed effective Thursday 7 October 2021. 

Alternative parking bays and rest facilities can be viewed on the Main Roads Travel Map.
