Wind Farm Blade Transport
From 30 May 2023 to early September 2023, there will be some Oversize Overmass (OSOM) movements between Bunbury Port to the new Flat Rocks Wind Farm in Broomehill West.
Published: 29 May 2023, Updated: 29 May 2023
These traffic movements will occur Mondays to Saturdays, commencing at 5am leaving Bunbury Port, arriving at their destination at Flat Rocks Wind Farm in Broomehill West approximately 5pm.
The truck movements will be transporting wind turbine equipment. The expected safe travelling speeds, due to the size of the load and the surrounding roadside furniture is approximately 50-60Kph. These speeds will be a lot slower during turning manoeuvres.

What does that mean for me?
Pilots and the Traffic Escort Warden will control traffic. During the OSOM load turning movements, all traffic will be stopped to allow sufficient space whilst turning. During general transit, the OSOM load may require more than one lane to travel in. Pilots will control any opportunity for passing vehicles. On single lane carriageways, oncoming vehicles will be positioned onto the shoulder and/or made to wait until the OSOM Loads has passed. On multi lane carriageways, the Pilots may decide to close all lanes resulting in no overtaking opportunities.
What do I when I encounter this OSOM convoy?
Please be patient, and follow direction of all Traffic Escorts and Pilots.
