We’re teaming up with our friends at METRONET as sustainability takes a front seat in Perth’s north

Published: 17 December 2021, Updated: 17 December 2021

Greater sustainable outcomes are being realised as excess material excavated from METRONET’s Yanchep Rail Extension is transferred for use on the Mitchell Freeway Extension project.

A large amount of earth was excavated to enable construction of the rail line. Meanwhile, across the way at the Mitchell Freeway site, extra material was needed to create new levels for the freeway, bridges and shared path.

Roughly 50,000m3 of material has been moved between the project sites so far with plans for more material to be moved in the future.

Doing better with less is a key focus in achieving our project sustainability targets. Visit the project page to learn more about our plans for Mitchell Freeway.
