Boasting stunning natural attractions, Goldfields-Esperance is the largest region in WA covering almost a million square kilometres.

We’re on the road in the Goldfields-Esperance Region - undertaking more than $200 million of work to make your journey safer, smoother and more efficient.

Outback Way

Often referred to as ‘Australia’s Longest Shortcut’, Great Central Road is an iconic route between Laverton in WA and Winton in QLD.

With over 1,400 kilometres of the road unsealed, work is underway to upgrade a 40 kilometre section east of Laverton - and we’re half way there with 20 kilometres sealed.

Earthworks have started to prepare for sealing of the next section, due for completion in October.

Watch our video to see what the project means to the community, and visit the project page for the latest information.

Coolgardie Esperance Highway - Emu Rocks

A major milestone was recently reached on Coolgardie Esperance Highway with Section 1, north of Goldfields Hgihway intersection complete and open to traffic.

Our attention has now moved to the largest section, Section 6, with construction work underway. View our latest drone footage from May to see how the project is progressing.

See what else we have planned in regional WA, and before you head off, check our Travel Map to see if there are any impacts to your journey.
