The newly upgraded Coolgardie-Esperance Highway at Emu Rocks is open.

Work included:

 Upgraded a 30 km section of highway between Widgiemooltha and Kambalda

 Reconstructed and realigned the highway north and south of Goldfields Highway

 Upgraded Goldfields Highway intersection

 Widened and reconstructed shoulders along the highway south of Goldfields Highway

 Added passing lanes on the highway south of Goldfields Highway

 Upgraded the intersection at Widgie Roadhouse

 Upgraded and replaced more than 50 culverts

 Installed road safety barrier along selected locations on highway
