TRAVEL WARNING – FLOODING – PILBARA REGION

Heavy rain fall is predicted in the region causing flash flooding and unpredictable levels in floodways and river crossings
Areas currently affected between Pannawonica and Karratha
Please exercise extreme caution on all roads and check conditions before travel.


If you need to drive please consider the following:
Travel plans may need to be reconsidered due to unfavourable road conditions.
If it’s raining heavily and you can’t see, pull over and park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears.
Be alert and watch for hazards on the road including stray cattle and debris.
Take care at crossings and floodway’s as river levels may rise rapidly.
Do not drive into water of unknown depth or velocity.
Exercise caution in flooded areas and take care when driving on gravel roads. Surfaces may be slippery or muddy and vehicles could become bogged.
