Reid Highway Widening - Duffy Road to Marmion Avenue

Latest News

Completed works

Traffic lights are operational at the intersection of Duffy Road South and Reid Highway and are providing a safe option for motorists wanting to turn east off Duffy Road South.  A dedicated left turn into Reid Highway (westbound) and two right turn lanes heading east have also been constructed.

Works are complete at the westbound left turning lane prior to the intersection of Reid Highway and Marmion Avenue.  The lane allows vehicles to turn left from Reid Highway onto Marmion Avenue and has been widened and extended for approximately 120 m.  This improvement is providing extra capacity to improve traffic flow, especially during peak times.

Project Overview / Scope

Reid Highway widening works include approximately two kilometres of carriageway widening from Duffy Road to Marmion Avenue. This provides two continuous lanes each direction.

Project elements include:

  • Full width resurfacing;
  • Modifications to drainage, traffic signals and street lighting;
  • Provision of safety barriers (where required); and
  • Revegetation and landscaping.

The completed works will provide increased lane capacity to further improve traffic flow along Reid Highway. A concept plan is available for this project in the Publications section below.
