Concrete works are progressing on the bridge piers within Swan River. The piers form the structure support for the bridge.
Operational planning is also underway for closures affecting the Swan River in 2017. Further information will be published here as it becomes available.
The shared pedestrian and cyclist path located adjacent to the Swan River near Gloucester Park remains open but a detour is in place until mid-2017.
Concrete piling works are underway on the Burswood side and will swap to East Perth in February.
The Swan River pedestrian bridge will connect people moving between East Perth, Burswood Peninsula and Perth Stadium. The bridge will start in East Perth at Nelson Avenue, south of Nile Street, and includes a special event bus stand to move patrons away from residential streets and connect them to the Perth CBD and car park facilities.The bridge is a key component of Perth Stadium transport plan and will provide patron connectivity between Perth's CBD, East Perth and the Stadium.
