Moora Bridge

Background

We are currently tendering works on Bridge 0782 on Roberts Street in Moora where it has been identified that there are significant structural deficiencies requiring attention.

Works include the demolition of the existing deteriorated structural components and timber/concrete overlay and construction of a new reinforced concrete structural deck. The footpath on the bridge will also be increased in width.

Minor works will include wing wall repairs and extensions, pile repairs, stringers replacement and corrosion protection.

Works will be carried out with a full bridge closure which will result in a shorter duration of works and improved quality and durability of the structure, all whilst ensuring public safety.

Current Status

The tendering process for works is underway.

Work is expected to commence in February 2017 with an estimated completion of mid-2017.

During works, the bridge will be closed to both traffic and pedestrians. A temporary footpath will be provided for pedestrians during the works. The public will be required to use alternative routes during the bridge closure. Local businesses between Clinch Street and Roberts Street remain open.
