Toodyay Road Widening - Noble Falls Road to Aspen Road

Overview

This $3 million project to widen Toodyay Road from Noble Falls Road to Aspen Road in both directions and improve safety and traffic flow has now been completed.

Key features of this vital project included:

  • Provision of a 1.5 m sealed shoulder and 0.5 m unsealed shoulder
  • Installation of safety barriers along Toodyay Road
  • Upgrade of existing guideposts

 

Funded by the Road Trauma Trust Account in the 2016-17 State Budget, these improvements have been designed to improve safety for traffic travelling in both directions on Toodyay Road from Noble Falls Road to Aspen Road and provide much needed maintenance to the shoulder.

  

​Toodyay Road / Noble Falls - Safety Improvement Project

Overview

This $5 million project to improve safety and traffic flow has now been completed.

Key features of this vital project included:

  • Widening Toodyay Road to provide right and left turn lanes onto Noble Falls Road, and safer access into Noble Falls Tavern and adjacent properties;
  • Clearing and road realignment to improve sightlines and visibility; and
  • New guard rails on both sides of Toodyay Road and upgrade street lighting.

Funded through the Liberal National Government's Safer Roads Program, these improvements have been designed to reduce the likelihood of head-on or right-angle crashes, and ensure the road is safer for the drivers and passengers in commuting vehicles.

Toodyay Road, which is a crucial east-west connection between Midland and Toodyay is used by over 4000 vehicles per day. Of this, 12% are heavy vehicles.
