Byford Bridge Replacement

Road user safety and transport efficiency on South Western Highway has improved with the construction of a new concrete bridge over Beenyup Brook in Byford, which was completed in October 2016.

This $3.4 m project was jointly funded by the Federal and State Governments.

The new bridge is almost 5 m wider than its predecessor and includes a dual carriageway in each direction, sealed shoulders and a new 3 m path along the western side of the highway.

Built to the latest safety standards, it has improved capacity, which will allow over-mass loads to use this section of the dedicated heavy haulage route.
